What if I told you I’d discovered an all-natural hack to achieve glowing, radiant skin – no catch involved? And the fact that I didn’t have to spend anything on it to enjoy all the skin-loving promises typical of a luxe, high-end product.

I’m not kidding. The secret is probably lying in your kitchen now, and you’ve been ignoring it unknowingly. I’m talking flaxseeds. Yup. The tiny, grainy seeds that your mother throws into your smoothie because it’s so healthy for you. Turns out — it’s a boon for the skin too. Here’s all you need to know about the benefits of flaxseed for the skin.

What Is Flaxseed?

Flaxseed is a plant-based food that contains fiber, fat, proteins, and other components that can enhance your health over time. This seed boasts a crispy, crunchy texture that’s mildly nutty in flavour; which is why many add them to salads, smoothies, yoghurt, and sandwiches.

Studies suggest that flaxseed can reduce your risk of cancer, cholestrol, and heart-related conditions, support the health of your gut, and more. But apart from these benefits, it can even help your skin in many ways. Here’s more on the flaxseed benefits for skin.

Benefits Of Flaxseed For Skin

Is flaxseed good for skin? Flaxseed can regulate the levels of estrogen in your body. A fluctuation in these levels can send your oil-producing glands into overdrive and trigger flare-ups and pimples on your skin. It does this while cleansing and exfoliating your skin of dirt and build-up and unclogging your pores. The cleaner your pores, the less visible they are.

It even excels at inducing a glow on your face. This is because it’s rich in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids that lighten scars and pigmentation and reveal clearer, healthy-looking skin over time.

Flaxseed’s anti-inflammatory properties even enable it soothe inflammation and redness quickly.

Flaxseed can stimulate the production of collagen and promote the turnover of cells thanks to its composition of anti-ageing components and antioxidants. This makes your face look firm, tight, and youthful and diminishes the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

You need to add these seeds to your skincare routine ASAP! Here’s how.
