Cut creasing, baking, strobing, oh my! If you’re new to makeup, then these buzzwords might make your head spin. So, what’s a girl to do? As luck would have it, we have just the thing to help turn every makeup newbie into a pro (eventually, of course).
We recently caught up with Daniel Bauer, Global Makeup Director, MyGlamm to get the low down on essentials for the makeup novice.
Here are Daniel’s makeup essentials for every newbie:
If you need to cover up dark circles, blemishes, and acne scars then you will need a good concealer. Look for a concealer that’s oil-free, but at the same time doesn't dry out your skin. We suggest using pencils like the Twin Faced Concealer Sticks, mainly because they are easier to use.
Daniel recommends using a tinted foundation or primer because they are extremely lightweight and give you good coverage. Once you figure out your exact skin tone and how to work with it, you can upgrade to a full coverage foundation. A tinted primer is the best for newbies because it works with almost any skin tone.

How does one find the perfect nude? Daniel explains that you can tell right away! This is our cheat sheet – if you’re fair, choose nudes with pink undertones, if you’re tan, choose caramel browns and nudes with peach undertones, and if you’re dusky, stick to chocolate browns and nudes with rose tints.
