Runway Chic: Our Favourite Makeup Looks From Paris Haute Couture Week 2019

image-3.jpeg

Famous designers from around the world gathered in the city of lights to show off their latest designs at the Paris Haute Couture fashion show in 2019. Chanel, Dior, Givenchy were just some of the biggest names in the fashion world who have worked tirelessly for months in hopes to bring their fantasies to the runway.

At Paris Haute Couture, you can always expect some dramatic outfits and while they are obviously the highlight of the show, hair and makeup also steal the show. This year was no different!

So, we’re breaking down some of the craziest but doable makeup looks that caught our eyes. Time to get your makeup kit 'cause you’re going to want to try these looks.

Valentino Fall 2019 Couture

Whoever said glitter is so last season is highly mistaken! Valentino's Fall 2019 Couture was all about glitter brows and dramatic eyes. As the models walked down the runway, everyone was captivated by the graphic swipes of vibrantly coloured glitter neatly placed right under their brows. After seeing this look, one thing is certain--We need to make glitter brows a thing RIGHT NOW! Winged eyeliner on the top of the lids and black eyeliner below were enough to complete this eye look. The rest of the face was left bare with just a hint of lip-gloss.

Armani Privé's Fall 2019 Couture

Armani Privé's fall 2019 couture show proved to us that your lashes can make a big difference. Taking inspiration from Armani’s black and white images, makeup artist Linda Cantello managed to capture the beauty of the fashion label’s 90’s collection with emphasis only on the lashes and a bit of eyeliner.

Schiaparelli Fall 2019 Couture

It was all about the extreme beauty look at the Schiaparelli Fall 2019 Couture show. They definitely stood out from the rest of the designers. While others opted to highlight only one aspect of the model’s face or go for a minimal makeup look, this fashion label, however, decided that the hair and makeup should be as dramatic as the outfits. Models graced the runway with bold glitter lips and dramatic hairdos. One model even had crystal deco in the shape of ladybugs placed all over her face to match her ensemble.

Chanel Fall 2019 Couture

This fashion label gave us some serious minimal hair and makeup goals. Every model had a subdued look. The only makeup that stood out was the superfine feline flicks on their lids, creating a new twist to the classic winged eyeliner. Models also sported slicked-back low ponytails that were held into place with a simple black band.

Christian Dior 2019 Couture

This fashion house added a little twist to the classic black smoky eye look. The brand’s makeup artist's inspiration was to take the sexy smoky eye and turn it into something a bit more poetic. He excluded mascara from the look and created a cloud of shadow around the eyes. Philips finished off the look with a kohl liner above the shadow.
