So, certainly by now, you’ve checked out all the winners from the EE British Academy Film Awards 2018. Held at The Royal Albert Hall at the heart of London, UK, the BAFTAS is one of the most prestigious dates of the annual award season. As Hollywood royalty flocks to England’s capital, we get a glimpse of what’s hot and what’s not in realms of A-list celeb make up. And where better to source inspiration for your spring and summer make up look?
Time’s Up goes Transatlantic
Make up aside, this was the year that the BAFTAS went black. Guests and award-winners at the red carpet event wore black garments in a show of solidarity to Time’s Up and #MeToo. The Time’s Up movement, which was created on 1 January 2018 by 300 actors and industry professionals, strives to counter ‘systemic sexual harassment in the entertainment business.’
With black formal dress being the main focus of the evening, many of our favourite celebs chose to wear minimal make up. This classy look is not only extremely fitting for the esteemed Academy Awards, it also prevents distraction from the night’s integral message.
Classic glamour for the gongs
Many a celeb’s make up looks was inspired by their choice to wear black in support of the Time's Up campaign. From natural, relaxed looks, to chic bold red lips, make up reflected the sentiment of the statement being made.
