2021 Trend Alert: Skinimalism & Cocooning Are The Two New Skincare Trends To Look Out For!
2020 has been the year of skin and seems like it is going to carry on to 2021 as well -- hopefully, it is the only thing we are taking into 2021. Two big skincare trends are set to dominate the new year and we’re all for it. The two trends we’re referring to are Skinimalism and Cocooning. These are going to take on 2021 in a huge way and it should be part of everyone’s beauty routine. Don’t know what these two are?
Don’t panic! We’ve got all the info you need about skinimalism and cocooning and how you can embrace this new skin routine in the new year.
Skinimalism (skincare + minimalism)
Just like most of the skincare routines, this one originated in South Korea as well. Also known as the ‘Skip-care’ trend, this skincare trend is all about using only a handful of beauty products rather than a whole list of them, every day. It’s all about enriching your skin with minimal products to strengthen the skin barrier and nourish it. This new natural, minimal or no-makeup beauty craze highlights your texture, pores and complexion. It is all about allowing your skin to breathe, especially your face area and ensure that your pores don’t get clogged up.
There are three basic steps to Skinimalism
Step 1: Cleansing – Cleansing twice a day is important to get rid of dirt and bacteria that may have settled on the superficial layer of the skin. Using lukewarm water, cleanse your face thoroughly with a gentle face wash for #60seconds to make sure you get rid of any unwanted particles.
Step 2: Moisturising – No matter what your skincare routine is, moisturising is a must. After cleansing make sure to apply a good moisturiser that's perfect for your skin type both in the morning and night after cleaning. This will ensure that your skin is hydrated, and the skin’s barrier is strengthened and protected.
Step 3: SPF – No matter the weather, a good dose of SPF is necessary if you want to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays and also reduce wrinkles and fine lines. If you have sensitive skin, opt for mineral and hypoallergic sunscreens.
Cocooning
Cocooning gained popularity during the pandemic and now it seems like people can’t get enough of it. This skin care trend is all about indulging in at-home treatments rather than spending heap loads of money on multiple products. With this skincare trend, you wrap your body in skin-loving ingredients that not only soothe, and care for your skin but also leave you smelling good.
Go on and give your skin the pampering it deserves even in 2021.
