Myth Or Fact: Does Castor Oil Make Your Eyelashes Longer And Fuller?

Some beauty myths just don't die, do they?

No, you cannot open or close your pores, you're not Harry Potter, and you cannot make your hair grow faster by cutting the ends! Another beauty myth (or is it?) that people believe is that castor oil can make your lashes grow faster. Yes, castor oil is amazing to nourish your hair and make it super strong and shiny but can it stimulate hair growth, specifically for your lashes? Let's dig deeper!

Is Castor Oil The Answer To Big, Fuller Lashes?

Castor oil is extracted from the seeds of Ricinus Communis plant and in beauty world, is it highly loved as it results in healthy hair, strong nails, and great skin. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, you can use castor oil day and night to reduce acne scars, get rid of wrinkles, reduce puffiness, to moisturize your skin and lips and even to treat sunburns.

But we still haven't answered your question- does it help make the lashes grow longer?

Girl, NO!

There is no proof that castor oil can actually make your lashes grow fast. It definitely keeps them moisturized, conditioned and healthy but doesn't aid in growth. If you wear a lot of falsies or mascara and it has resulted in thinner lashes, you can use castor oil to nourish them to become stronger. But do not smear it all over your eyes instead, apply a drop on the palm of your hands and use your fingers to massage it into your lash hair follicles.

Another way is to dip a spoolie brush into castor oil and comb it on your lashes. You should do this every night before going to bed or even before coating your lashes with your favourite mascara.

Another day, another myth busted!

NO, castor oil doesn't help to grow your lashes but it definitely protects and nourishes them. But don't worry, here are a few products that'll help your lashes grow in no time.

Are you surprised or did you always know?
