These At-Home Cleansing Tips Are All You Need For Fresh & Supple Skin

Face Cleansing at home

The first step in your beauty regime, cleansing lends to your skin the holistic approach it deserves. A good cleanser will not only eliminate the dirt sitting deep within your pores, but also remove any residues of makeup, leaving your skin looking clean and feeling supple. If you are inclined towards upping the skincare game, a reliable cleanser is a must and so is the way you use it. Take a look at how you can include the holy-grail of skincare essentials in your everyday routine.

Step 1: Splash Warm Water On Your Face

Before using soap or face wash, splash your face with warm water. Using very hot or very cold water is not good for your skin. However, lukewarm water is the best as it won’t cause any irritation. Splash water either by using your hands or a moistened towel as an alternative.

Step 2: Apply Your Favourite Face Cleanser

Use a face cleanser that suits your skin type. Apply the cleanser in a circular motion, and make sure that you cover each and every spot on your face. Massage for about 30 seconds to a minute. Avoid using your hands or body soap to cleanse your face for your facial skin is far more sensitive than the skin elsewhere on your body, meaning harsher soaps can cause dryness and irritation on your face.

Step 3: Exfoliate Your Skin Gently

Exfoliating is gently scrubbing your face to remove the dead skin cells and dirt. Repeating the process every few days will keep your pores from getting clogged and help your facial skin look fresh and bright. Use a facial scrub or a washcloth to rub your skin in circular motions, focusing on areas that tend to be dry or oily. Exfoliating too often or too vigorously can irritate your skin. Do it once or twice a week, making sure you don’t scrub too hard.

Step 4: Rinse Your Face & Pat It Dry

Rinse your face with warm water without leaving any traces of the face cleanser or scrub on it. Pat your face dry using a soft towel. Do not rub too hard as it can cause wrinkles and skin irritation.

Step 5: Face Toning For Smooth Skin

Though using a toner is optional, it helps in the smoothening of your skin. Apply using a cotton ball on areas where your pores appear larger. This will not only make your skin feel softer but also reduce the appearance of pores.

Step 6: End It With A Moisturizer

Finish the process by using a moisturizer. Pick one that suits your skin type. Apply a dime-sized amount on your face. It will protect your skin from the dirt and dust whilst keeping it hydrated.

Now that you've read all there is to know about it, include it in your regime right away!
