Boost Your Confidence By Experimenting With These 2 Maximalist Makeup Looks

With the party season in full swing, it's time to whip out your brightest eyeshadows, lipsticks and blush. The F/W & S/S 2019 shows are indications that bold is back. It was seen all over the runways of international fashion shows which emphasised on the powerful colours and styles. The ramps were rife with numerous striking and unexpected colour combinations in makeup; it’s clear that we are in an intense moment of minimalism.

The maximalism makeup trend has arrived again, and it’s all about unapologetic glamour. If you have gone ‘minimalistic’ in the past months with the nude and no-makeup look, the cold winter months allow you to bounce back by embracing maximalism. You can go full face-beat, wear vibrant shadows and eyeliners with spidery-long lashes, go extra with the blush or try the halo eye look without an ounce of guilt or feeling out of place.

The maximalism trend gives you the choice of wearing as much makeup as you want just like the minimalism gives you the choice of less. There is no such thing as too much in the maximalism world. It’s also the perfect opportunity for you to use all those colours you never thought you would ever wear. In the end, it’s about using makeup to get your desired look and feel confident.

Sounds like too much? Well, it is. But the maximalism makeup trend is all about expressing yourself with makeup. It may not be for everyone, but it is definitely worth a shot.

Anna Sui SS2019

The Anna Sui SS2019 Paris show was a classic example of maximalism. Models walked with vibrant, multi-coloured shadows splashed across their faces.

Julien Macdonald SS19

The Julien Macdonald show saw the rise of the animal prints as the models looked like Amazonian goddesses in hues of dipped charcoal and rich jungle green on their eyes.
