3 Steps To The Perfect High Ponytail!
Deck: When you don’t know what to do with your hair, this will be your go-to style.
There are so many reasons to love the high ponytail—it’s a classic style that never goes out of fashion, it’s easy, quick and mess-free, and it can well be the hairstyle we live in, all day, every day.
A high ponytail works well with shoulder length or longer hair, and for all hair types. You can wear it to work, and with a few tweaks, transform it into a glamorous evening hairdo.
Here’s how you can master it in three easy steps:
Step 1. Brush hair back
Start by opening out tangles. Then, brush your hair towards the back of your head. Gather the hair at your crown, pull it all together tightly and then tie it up. Rather than using an elastic band, which tends to break your hair, use a bungee hair tie to keep it in place.
MyGlamm Pro Tip
To stop your pony from sagging, brush upward several times before tying the band. Later use hairspray to keep it taut and in place.
- Tease the top of the pony
Take a section of the hair from the top part of the pony and back comb it to create volume. Teasing the hair will give a fuller look to an otherwise limp pony.
- Cover that elastic band
Unless you’re wearing one that’s super cute, or one you want to show off, cover the hair tie. The best way to do it is by taking a tiny section of hair from the lower part of the ponytail and wrapping it around the band. Secure this section using a small bobby pin and you’re good to go.
