Take a moment to let this sink in – butt acne exists. They look like tiny red bumps and are caused due to inflammation of the hair follicles aka folliculitis. Yeast, fungus, bacteria, and itchiness are the main culprits here. Although they’re not the only ones responsible for butt acne, you may have to blame poor hygiene and diet as well. Just like the skin on your face, hands and legs get dry, so does your derrière. Dryness leads to flakiness and flakiness leads to itchiness. When you itch your backside, red bumps start to pop up – and that can be painful. That’s why you must moisturise your backside as often to keep the acne away. Want to learn more about these mysterious pimples on buttcheek? Awesome! Change into your swimsuit because you are about to jump into a pool of knowledge. Let’s begin with some reasons for pimples and butt acne home remedies!
There can be many mistakes you might be making while doing some activities or wearing certain types of clothes. So, to exactly know why do I get pimples on my buttcheek is what we’ve discussed below. Scroll down to know the reasons!
1. You Wear Super Tight Clothes
If you have butt acne, you’ve got to take a break from wearing yoga pants and bodycon outfits. You see, the tighter your clothes are, the more bacteria and sweat will collect. The moment that happens, your pores will get clogged and acne will start popping up. One thing you can do is as soon as you come home, remove your clothes and wash them. Air-dry your butt so that your skin has a chance to breathe too. You can also switch to cotton if you think synthetic and nylon are the culprits.
2. You Generally Have Dry Skin
Maintaining a good skincare routine is very important. No one likes having dry skin. If you do, then you have to watch it, because if it comes in contact with fabric, the friction will give rise to acne. Just how you would moisturise your hands and legs, spend time doing the same for your backside. A smooth and moisturised butt keeps the acne away.
3. You Don’t Exfoliate Often
You have to clean your butt well if you want to avoid experiencing butt acne. You can start with exfoliating. The more dead skin cells you scrub off, the more pores you’re able to unclog. A body scrub teamed with a pair of hand gloves is bound to give you a soft and smooth booty.
4. You’re Sitting In One Place For Too Long
We’re ALWAYS glued to our desks at office and college. This is where the main problem lies. Not leaving your seat is not healthy for your booty and your body. Both need to get some air and exercise. From time to time, get up, go for a walk and do a couple of squats. This habit not only helps to shape your booty but also helps your skin to breathe.
1. Shower First Always
How to get rid of butt acne? As soon as you get home from the pool or the gym, don’t just crash on your sofa! Head straight for a shower instead. Sweaty clothes and chlorine soaked fabric can get you not just butt acne, but a nasty rash as well.
2. Try Dry-Brushing
You won’t only save your skin from experiencing acne, but you’ll also curb cellulite if you embrace dry-brushing. When choosing a brush, pick one that has bristles made from natural fiber. After a shower, pat your skin dry, scrub your booty in circular motions. Believe it or not, but doing this twice or more in a week helps to tighten skin, increase blood circulation and promote cell renewal.
3. Pick A Hair Removal Method Wisely
Waxing or shaving, both have their pros and cons. Get a full Brazilian wax done if it’s your first time removing bum fuzz. The effects last longer and your bum feels super soft and smooth. If you can bear the pain, shaving is your next alternative. However, your hair will grow again after a week and if you’re inexperienced, you could cut yourself and get an unwanted infection. Waxing is a far better alternative for long-term results.
4. Be Extra Careful During Your Periods
Backflows are a real deal and can happen to any woman. During your period, things can get pretty messy down there. Constantly changing your pad can cause friction which, in turn, can cause butt acne. A smart move would be to switch to tampons. That way, you won’t stain your underwear and you’ll never experience itchiness on the booty.
5. Choose The Right Underwear
Sometimes, even the sexiest underwear can be responsible for making you get butt acne. You need to switch desperately if you have pimples on butt. For some time, stay away from lace, satin and nylon. Only choose cotton. Seamless, loose cotton undies should be in your shopping cart STAT.

I love using clay masks to clear acne, exfoliate, tighten and brighten my skin. One of my all time favourites has been the Aztec Indian Healing Clay Mask (Rs 999). I’m taking this as the perfect opportunity to give my peaches some pampering before my next beach vacay!
Step 1: Exfoliation is key. Scrub!
Step 2: Tighten and brighten! Use your favourite clay mask.
Step 3: Hydrate! If you’re feeling wild, you can always put on a sheet mask (or two) and wake up to a hydrated tush! Alternatively, you can use a good body moisturiser or a body oil.

1. Garlic Paste To The Rescue
Garlic has two powerful bioactive compounds – diallyl sulfide and diallyl disulfide. These two compounds together have the power to get rid of butt acne. All you’ve got to do is chop a few garlic pods, mash them up in a mixer and apply the paste to your buttocks. Use your hand to spread the paste and leave it on for a good 10-15 minutes. Wash it off with chilled water. Twice a month is good enough.
2. Lime Juice For The Win
If the acne on your butt has left you with scars, it’s time to befriend lemons. Lemon juice is one of the best home remedies for pimples on buttocks that acts as a natural bleaching agent and does a fab job at treating bumps and spots. Slice a lemon and rub one half on your butt cheek in circular motions. Leave it there for about 10-15 minutes. Wash after with lukewarm water. If you experience skin burn during this experiment, wash the lemon juice off or dilute it with room temperature water.
3. How About Some Diluted Eucalyptus Oil?
If your skin is oily and sweaty down there, eucalyptus oil can help. It’s one of the best home remedies for pimples on buttocks that helps by reducing the size of sebaceous glands and reduces the amount of oil your pores produce. If the scent of the eucalyptus oil is too strong, add a couple of drops of grapeseed oil. In the first month itself, you’ll be able to see the first sign of results.
4. Turmeric Paste Has Super Powers
Before you take a shower, make a paste using water and turmeric powder. Since turmeric has antiseptic and antibacterial properties, your booty is going to be in safe hands. If you have any cuts, burns and boils, turmeric also helps with healing and soothing the pain away.
5. Tea Tree Oil Is A Rockstar
When it comes to butt acne, tea tree oil is the most effective. The antimicrobial properties in tea tree oil help to soothe the area and get rid of acne eventually. Although it’s safe to directly use tea tree oil on your butt, you may experience skin reactions because of the liquid being too strong. You can dilute it using water or aloe gel.
