Glittery And Gorgeous: High-Shine Makeup Is Now The Talk Of The Town

Lately we've been really into high-shine makeup; sparkles, glitter, foils, metallic, gloss you name it! Judging by the glitzy makeup frequently spotted on the International runways across the globe, we're guessing that we're not alone in our obsession.

When models at the Giambattista Valli show sashayed around in gilded lips and frosted eyes, it was clear that we are not done with the glitter, sparkles and heavy metal makeup. Be it on the lips, eyes, cheeks or nails, metals and glitters are everywhere, turning women (and men) into goddesses with every swipe.

Singer Selena Gomez flaunted her gorgeous glittery gold eye to the Met gala 2018.

Gold, silver, copper, rose gold, bronze- besides the star staples, a full spectrum of alloys in every shade imaginable was seen. Metallics in other shades like cobalt blue and green stood out. The blinding heavy metal highlighters, shimmery shadows and gilded lipsticks has many takers but what truly stunned the world were the foil eyeshadows. These, hands down stole the show and hearts! The glimmering, mirror-like, molten-metal effect shadows literally outshine all other shimmer shadows. The new-age formulas, so smooth and packed with pigmentation, are good enough to blind the haters with every blink.

Even the traditional black smoky eye was rendered with metallics for an upgrade. A dash of sparkles on the eye crease and at the inner corners was added for flamboyance and iridescence. At Reem Acra, models wore a cat-eye created with a dramatic silver-foil eyeliner. An accent of metal on the nails was also seen with glitter and chrome nails already taking centre spot since last year. Bottom line, the glitzy, sparkly makeup is pure indulgence and decadence and having their moment, and we have decided to go with the flow?

If you have not tried yet, it’s time to integrate this fun and futuristic trend into your makeup routine.
Cue: The bridal season is upon us!
