It was the night of nights, when the best in the American television entertainment industry were awarded. The 70th Annual Emmy Awards held at LA’s Microsoft Theatre on September 18th was a medley of entertainment and dramatic events. The ceremony was hosted by Saturday Night Live comedians Michael Che and Colin Jost, and the most popular faces from the television and Hollywood were spotted at the prestigious event. Among the Hollywood A-listers were Benedict Cumberbatch, Kate McKinnon, Ricky Martin, Mandy Moore, Tiffany Haddish, Issa Rae, Kristen Bell, Jessica Biel and numerous others. Scarlett Johansson was there to support boyfriend and Emmys co-host Colin Jost. It was a big night for British talent with Thandie Newton, Claire Foy, Charlie Brooker, Matthew Rhys and John Oliver among the winners. The night took a very interesting turn when Director Glenn Weiss proposed to his girlfriend onstage while accepting the Emmy for outstanding director for a variety special.

The actor was overwhelmed after winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for The Crown. This was Foy’s second nomination and first win for playing Queen Elizabeth II on the Netflix royal family drama.
