So why should you use Toner? Because it's awesome! Toners not only have the power to remove excess dirt, traces of oil, makeup residue but also balance the pH levels of your skin too. Not to forget that it also acts as a moisturiser as it contains humectants. If all of this still doesn't feel convincing for you to spend moolah on one, then I recommend you to try another option - make one at home using ingredients from your kitchen. However, before sharing homemade toner recipes, I want you to keep your skin tone in mind and then proceed!
Toners work wonders for two types of skin - acne-prone and oily. They help to absorb excess oil and are careful while cleansing your pores. In a nutshell, they will not clog them. Women who wear heavy makeup and have oily skin - these homemade toners for oily skin are a must-have product for them.
Roses aren't only beautiful to look at, but they make your skin look beautiful too. Indians and Egyptians have been using rose water as a beauty ingredient for years. Rosewater helps to soothe inflamed skin and freshen up dull and tired skin.
Step 1: In a boiler, add 5-6 dried rose petals.
Step 2: Add 1 cup of water and turn on the heat.
Step 3: Cover the boiler and wait for 5-8 minutes.

Step 5: Post cleansing your face, pour some of this toner into a cotton pad and gently go on with patting your skin.

Step 1: In a bowl, pour one cup of coconut water and half a cup of milk.
Step 2: Use a spoon to stir both the ingredients well.
Step 3: Pour into a bottle and place in the fridge.
Step 4: Pour a bit into a cotton ball and wipe your skin with it.

Step 1: In a bowl, add 1 cup of rice.
Step 2: Stir well and don't stop until the water becomes cloudy.
Step 3: Strain the water out and transfer it into a bottle.
Step 4: Soak a cotton pad into it and watch it remove dirt and makeup residue!
When life gives you tulsi leaves, you make a best homemade toner out of it. These leaves not only help to treat acne, but also reduce possible skin infections in the future.
Step 1: Add 7-8 tulsi leaves into a boiler.
Step 2: Add 1 cup of water and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Let it boil for 20 minutes and later, turn off the heat.
Step 4: Once cool, pour it into the spray bottle and play it in a refrigerator.
Step 5: Post cleaning, spray some of it on your skin and use a cotton pad to wipe off any of the excesses.
Sensitive skin should be treated with uttermost care. This includes the choice of ingredients as well. If at all any ingredient causes you to pick at your skin, please refrain from using that ingredient. Also, before making a natural toner, do take a suggestion from your dermatologist as well if they're okay with you using it.

When diluted, apple cider vinegar helps to improve the texture of your skin. Packed with acetic acid and alpha hydroxy acid, it gently exfoliates the skin and provides deep cleansing to the pores.
Step 1: Add 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar into a bowl.
Step 2: Pour a cup of freshly brewed green tea.
Step 3: Add to your spray bottle and store in the fridge.
Step 4: Use only when cold.
If your skin is oily on the forehead, nose and chin, then you have combination skin. It's tougher to make a natural toner for this skin type as it needs to address two different skin types separately.
Glycerin is moisturising for the skin and makes it moist, supple and soft. Just what your skin type needs!
Step 1: Take 1 cup of water, add 1 tablespoon of glycerin and 2-3 drops of lemon juice.
Step 2: Stir well and pour the mix into a bottle.
Step 3: Shake well and use!
Combination skin is also prone to acne and inflammation. Which is why chamomile is here to help!
Step 1: In a bowl, pour freshly brewed rose water.
Step 2: Add 2-3 drops of chamomile oil.
Step 3: Stir well and pour into a spray bottle.
Step 4: Spray on your skin post-cleansing.
Cucumber water is extremely hydrating and soothing for your skin. It will bring back the glow and protect your skin from UV rays.
Step 1: Chop cucumber into fine pieces.
Step 2: Toss it into the mixer and add 1 cup of water and a spoon of aloe gel.
Step 3: Pour the mix into a bottle and store in the fridge for future use.

Since all the ingredients used are natural, they have a shorter shelf-life of 7-10 days. Hence, it's better to make them in smaller batches.

As mentioned above, you can't preserve them for more than 7-10 days. Since natural ingredients have the tendency to deteriorate, the best you can do is store them in a clean, dark and cool place. You'll know that it's time to chuck it out if it changes colour or gives off an unusual smell.
