Ever look at yourself in the mirror, only to find your face not matching your neck? You aren’t the only one. A dark neck is a phenomenon that a lot of people face –– this could be due to discolouration or improper cleaning, however it isn’t one that cannot be fixed. The skin on your neck is probably one of the most ignored or neglected parts of your body. Whether it’s due to overexposure to UV rays, a fluctuation of hormones, or other skin related issues, getting rid of a dark neck is a lot of people’s concern. And if not cared for, this condition can thicken the skin. Scroll down to see ways in which you can get your neck to match your face and make sure the discolouration around your neck is kept at bay.

How To Clean Your Neck

First things first, before you go ahead with trying to get rid of a dark neck, make sure you cleanse your skin with skin care products thoroughly in that area. Dirt build-up on your neck can cause it to look way darker than your face. This may seem like discolouration, however it might only be a layer of dirt bringing your skin down.

Step 1 - Cleanser

Start by cleansing your neck with a gentle cleanser –– you can either do this while you wash your face, or when having a shower.

MyGlamm Recommends - Glow Iridescent Brightening Foam Cleanser

A foaming gel cleanser that has a gentle yet effective formula. Enriched with rosehip oil, it helps remove dirt, makeup, and pollution, and leaves your skin with an iridescent glow.

Step 2 - Exfoliate

Next, make sure you exfoliate at least once or twice a week to slough away any dead skin cells. You can opt for a face scrub or a chemical exfoliator when doing so. Another option is to use a face cleansing brush on your neck to remove any stubborn dirt spots.
