A Low-down On The Best Looks From Met Gala 2017

The Met Gala 2017 saw international stars strut the red carpet in their avant-garde avatars. From over-the-top ensembles to trendy makeup and gorgeous hairstyles, here’s a low-down on the looks that totally swept us off our feet:

Natasha Poly

Dressed in a Michael Kors high-slit cut-out gown, Natasha wore her sleek hair in a twisted bun that spoke elegance. Straight brows, smokey eyes & nude lips, accompanied with just the right amount of contouring for a perfect tan, completed Natasha’s Met Gala look.

Behati Prinsloo

Behati Prinsloo not just swayed us with her ethereal white Topshop strappy gown, but also, with the way she made wavy hair trend on the red carpet. To give an edge to her wavy locks, Behati got one side hair pinned back, making her look like a quintessential red-carpet diva. Smoked eyes and neutral lip tone completed Prinsloo’s look & we are simply in awe of her minimalistic yet stunning approach to the Met Gala red carpet.

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily teamed her mermaid-like gown with sleek mid-parted hair and makeup that’ll give you some serious goals. Winged eyeliner in teal shade on top & gold on the bottom, Emily’s eye makeup got us swooning. Her peachy pout complemented her look perfectly well. Who else cannot wait to try this dream-like, flawless makeup?

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez made an appearance in a cute lob with angled, rounded edges and eye makeup that was a red-carpet game-changer for the international star. Selena’s upper lashline and inner corners were smudged outwards onto the lids to give her eyes a deep magenta base. With loud eye makeup, Gomez toned down her lip shade keeping it as neutral as possible. We appreciate this bold move and applaud her for pulling it off with such grace.

Priyanka Chopra

Metallic eyes with a cool chocolate lip tone completed with a top-knot with zero flyaways is what made global icon Priyanka Chopra look like a 90’s Grunge Goddess at the Met Gala 2017. We cannot imagine anybody else pulling off a trench coat gown the way PC did at the prestigious event. She owned the show looking like a regal beauty strutting the red carpet oozing sheer confidence.

Rihanna

Though we weren’t a big fan of Rihanna’s elaborate red-carpet ensemble, we definitely would like to give a mention to her pretty updo and highlighter makeup. The popular singer hit the Met Gala red carpet with hair worked in a top-knot with faux fringe & an intense flush of pink highlighter draped over her cheeks, eyes & temples. To add to that loud makeup, she wore an oxblood matte lip color, thus, inventing color-block makeup that seems too bold to step out in.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika made an appearance in a Tommy Hilfiger gown at the Met Gala 2017. As always, the diva kept it minimal. Her makeup comprised of filled beautiful brows, defined jawline, temples and cheekbones & silvery smokey eyes that were accentuated further to create a subtle cat eye effect and ended with a soft touch of mauve lip color. Dippy wore her hair in a sleek mid-parted chignon adorned with starry pins that made her look like a princess at the do.

Liu Wen

Chinese supermodel, Liu Wen gets Met Gala ready looking her natural best. With hair pulled back in a neat bun, Liu only took help of mascara, eyeliner and a beautiful dark red lipstick to look like a million bucks at the red carpet event.

Stella Maxwell

Stella Maxwell hit the Met Gala red carpet in a custom semi-sheer gown with fringe detailing by H&M. Keeping makeup to the bare minimum, Stella’s scorpion hairstyle is what made her stand out that evening.
