Our checklist has you covered.
Destination weddings are a Whole. Lotta. Fun. We’d shamelessly self-invite ourselves to one. The only tricky part? The beauty and skincare regime that tends to fall short.
Your everyday beauty routine may not suffice in the hot/balmy/cold/who-knows-what weather of the destination. But that doesn’t mean it has to come in the way of you looking your alluring, radiant best. These essentials, chosen keeping the climate in mind, will make your beauty and skincare regime a breeze, no matter where you are celebrating.
Pack a creamy, hydrating body wash if you’re going to a cold, windy place, and a gel based, light and fresh one if you’re headed to a balmy beach destination. Dry, flaky skin is not what you want showing through that sexy choli. The same rules apply for face wash. Remember to pack a cleansing milk or micellar water to gently but thoroughly remove all traces of make-up at the end of the day. And use a scrub to exfoliate, preferably at night, before sleeping.
Ideally, carry waterproof make-up to hold up against bright lights, hot sun, beach air, and what not. Make-up should include the basics, which you can then mix and match, according to your outfit. Here’s your checklist: your go-to lip colour, an eyeshadow palette, an eyeliner, a cheek stain that suits your skin tone, and a nail paint in gold or nude (better yet, call MyGlamm and get a professional manicure that’ll last for weeks), which you can wear through all the days and outfits of the wedding.
Invest in a good primer with sun-protection to keep make-up in place for longer. And do not forget blotting pads to remove excess oil.
Flyaways, frizz and an oily scalp is what you will usually have to deal with at a destination wedding. A hair smoothening balm makes hair easy to style and blow dry. Hydrating shampoos and conditioners beat the heat, give you a breather from all the hair products and treatments, and keep hair looking naturally fresh and clean.
Sunblock is non-negotiable. So is a moisturizer. To give your skin a break from all the make-up, apply a cooling face mask for 15 minutes and wash off. This relieves the skin of make-up stress and is a great, quick way to rejuvenate between events.
Besides these, there are a few essentials that we can never emphasize enough, which keep you looking and feeling good at all times. Getting a good sleep, drinking lots of water, dancing, and wearing your signature perfume. Have a ball of a time at the next destination wedding you head to. And invite us maybe?
